She Is Gone

May 27, 2005

no more laughter

no more arms

no more eyes to worship

no more love in hardship

I sit in darkness

the night I loved is no more

now only light that blinds

the stars and moon are no longer kind

the warmth is gone

and, too, is my voice

she is no more in my world

and now from it even I have been hurled

no more lips

to dream of kissing

I’ve nothing left to hold

close to me, I feel old

the memory only is here

and it only keeps me

from growing numb to these pains

and my tears are all the last of my dreams’ remains

my soul is broken

my life is without a spirit

now I haven’t even a song

for she is gone
