Fire And Starlight

May 27, 2005

The skies have blown away,

Winds following on wings

Of fire and bright starlight.

The lands are gone to pray.

Their voices, freed, now ring

Of fire and bright starlight.

“Is a blade worth so much,

Or a gauntlet so prized

Above its own master?”

The masters have gone, touched

By the voice of their prize,

Its skies alabaster.

For the clouds will not dim,

And the stones burn for love

Of fire and bright starlight,

With the coming of him

Who shunned the blade and glove

For his fire and starlight.
