wind blows a sad song

on a thin reed pipe

rain makes a rhythm

on an old window

trees dance eerie jigs

to the wind’s strange tunes

they lean and they wave

to rain’s pitter-pat

lips blow a sad song

on a tongue so slow

heart makes a rhythm

with a warm fast beat

feet dance eerie jigs

to the tongue’s soft tune

they spin and they whirl

for a lover’s eyes.
