Under Wings Of Dragons

January 30, 2005

With the talons of a dragon

Hung from his belt

And, hung from his lonely eyes

The tears he’s long felt

He walks in the dusty circles

Of ancient dreams

At dusk’s slow-brightening moonlight

And new stars’ hazy sheens

He pleads with the gods of olden

To grant his prayer

That he might soon walk again

In his dear loves’ air

And his loves dance, praying as well

In the red skies

That caress them for the gods

As they lift their cries

They wish with their souls to return

To their own home

Away from the lonely dusk

That complete they might roam

Under the wings of dragons

And tears and smiles

In each others’ embraces

For all the long miles.
